To Minisink Youth Soccer Players and Parents, August 31, 2015
We are fast approaching Opening Day for our Fall 2015 Recreation Season and we have a lot to share with you. First, we want to thank everyone for supporting our Club by participating in our program. A lot of hard work and dedication goes into preparing for the upcoming season and we are looking forward to opening day on September 12th. You should have already received an initial call from your coach to introduce themselves and to coordinate for a meet and greet with their respective teams.
We continue to work with UK Elite and the focus this year for PW through U12 will be on Small Sided Play. We want our young players to have more individual teaching time with the coach. This format also allows our young players to touch the soccer ball more often and become more skilled with it. The field size is smaller to allow the players to be more physically efficient in the field space. We want our players to have more involved playing time in the game thus more opportunities to problem solve. UK Elite will work with our younger players and partner with coach’s during this upcoming season during games and practices. This year, UK Elite will be working with U8 on Saturdays for 1.5 hours; so as a result there will not be a separate practice night scheduled. UK Elite will facilitate practices on Monday nights for U10 at Greenville Town Park in the back location ( Football Field) starting on Monday 9/14/15. UK Eilite will facilitate practices on Thursday nights for U12 at Greenville Town Park in the back location (Football Field) starting on Thursday 9/17/15. Practices cannot start until after September 2 ,2015.
The Town of Greenville will be paving the road up to the T and the entire soccer parking lot. This will be completed on Wednesday September 2, 2015 so no one can drive on the lots ( drive and park on the road only) until Wednesday September 9, 2015. Please don’t move the cones and park on the fresh pavement until Wednesday September 9, 2015. Minisink Youth Soccer has donated money for the curbing which has been completed. This is another major improvement to our fields. Additionally, we will be renting lighting for the Football Field in the back. All U12, U14 & U18 Games will take place in the Football Field in the back and this is where UK Elite practices will be held on Monday and Thursday evenings. There is more than ample parking up in this location.
Picture Night will be held on September 10th at Holy Cross Community Center. A schedule and letter with more details is forthcoming.
We will end by thanking you again for your continued support. We currently have openings to be on the Board. This is a great opportunity for you to be more involved. Contact a Board Member if you are interested.
