HVYSL Parent Code of Conduct
- I will not coach nor give any instructions to players - that is the coach's role.
- I understand I must remain at least 10 feet off the field touchlines at all times. No Goal line sitting/spectating is permitted.
- I will remember that children learn best by example.
- I will never ridicule or yell at my child or another participant for making a mistake or losing a competition.
- I will teach my child that doing one's best is more important than winning, so that my child will not be defeated by the outcome of any game.
- I will respect and show appreciation for the volunteer coaches, who give their time for the benefit of my child.
- I will make sure that my child arrives for scheduled games and practices at the time designated by the coach.
- I will understand team objectives and goals as it relates to development.
- I will encourage open communication (Player-Coach-Parent).
- I realize that the team or club can be penalized for my misconduct. If required, I and any of my guests must obey a request by an official or coach to leave the vicinity of the field.
- I will not interrupt a coach during a game or practice to resolve troublesome issues. I will discuss these issues privately and discreetly with the coach and if this is not prudent or satisfactory I will contact the appropriate official in the Club.
- I will inform the coach of any injury or physical disability or illness that may affect the safety of my child or other children.
- I will learn the rules of the game and policies of my club and league.
- At all times I will support all players on the team.
- I will never question the officials' judgment or honesty.
- I will support all efforts to eliminate verbal and physical abuse from the game of soccer.
- I will help maintain a positive environment.
- I will make my child feel like a winner by offering praise for competing fairly and doing their best.
- I will encourage my child to play by the rules and to resolve conflicts without resorting to hostility, intimidation or violence.
- I realize any misconduct on my part (or a guest of mine) may result in a board hearing and possible disciplinary action and can result in loss of club eligibility for myself.
MVSC Player Code of Conduct
- I understand that doing one's best is more important than winning the game.
- I will respect my teammates and agree there is zero tolerance for yelling at or insulting another player.
- I will respect and show appreciation for the volunteer coaches, who give their time for my benefit.
- I will show respect to my team and coaches by giving my best at practices and at the games no matter what position I play or exercise we perform.
- I understand that a positive attitude is a large part of sports and I will do my best to help my team stay positive.
- I will arrive for scheduled games and practices at the time designated by the coach.
- I will not argue with the coach or my teammates for any reason. If I have a question or concern I will talk to the coach before or after practices or games.
- I understand that a hard work ethic will be expected.
- I understand that if I goof off and distract other players during practices our team will suffer, and it will not be tolerated.
- I realize that the team or club can be penalized for my misconduct.
- I will inform the coach of any injury or physical disability that may affect my safety.
- I will learn and follow the rules of the game and of the coach(s).
I understand that a breach, at any time, of any of above by myself, my player or any of my guests can and will result in my player's expulsion from the league, including current and future programs, without refund.
I, the parent/guardian of the registrant, a minor, agree that I and the registrant will abide by the rules of the Unites States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA), its affiliated organizations and sponsors, including Hudson Valley Youth Soccer League (HVYSL) and Minisink Valley Soccer Club (MVSC). Recognizing the possibility of physical injury associated with soccer and in consideration for the USYSA accepting the registrant for its soccer programs and activities (“The Programs”). I hereby release, discharge and/or otherwise indemnify the USYSA, its affiliated organizations and sponsors, their employees and associated personnel, including the owners of fields and facilities utilized for The Programs, against any claim by or on behalf of the registrant as a result of the registrant’s participation in the Programs and/or being transported to or from the same, which transportation I hereby authorize.
Medical Consent
As the parent or legal guardian of the registrant, I herby give my consent for emergency medical care prescribed by a duly licensed Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Dentistry. This care may be given under whatever conditions are necessary to preserve the life, limb or well being of my dependent.
